Printing FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Is the digital print the right choice for my project?
If you require a short print run (1 - 1500) and a short turn around time (10 business days from receiving complete files/camera ready art) then digital printing is a good choice for you. However, NetPublications Inc. does offer conventional printing methods as well as digital.
Do you need any additional lead/pre-press time to print new titles ?
NetPublications does not need additional weeks of lead/pre-press time to print new titles. Provided there are
no problems/errors/missing elements with your submission, our turn around
time starts from when we receive your files/camera ready art. Your customer service representative will contact you
with a new turn around time if we find errors and/or missing elements in your submission,
along with our best solutions or recommendations to remedy the problems as fast as possible.
What are the resolutions of your digital printers ?
Both the color and black and white digital presses have a resolution of 600 dpi.
Does a Print-On-Demand book have the same print and binding quality as the original ?
Books printed On-Demand are virtually identical to offset-printed originals. NetPublications specifically
prints, binds and trims books to a standard where you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.
What paper do you use for your books ?
NetPublications uses high quality, acid-free, book grade paper stock. Books can be printed
on either 50# white, or 60# natural shade opaque. Paperback covers are printed on durable 100# white cover stock.
What bindery options are available ?
Please check our Binding page for further details.
How many pages can you bind and what book sizes do you offer ?
The thinnest a paperback cover book should be is 5 sheets, and the maximum should be
a spine of approximately 3 1/4" thick. NetPublications can offer most trim size requirements, including
the standards of 5" x 8", 5.5" x 8.5", 6" x 9", 7.5" x 9.25", 8 3/8" x 10 3/4" (maximum Perfect Bound size), 8.5" x 11".
